Featured in this month’s selected shop is Aki Goto’s Chanchanko series. We asked her to share a little background about chanchanko and what inspired her to make them!

Aki lives and works upstate in Saugerties, NY. ”It’s been really cold up here this winter, even inside my studio space too. We live without electric or gas heating because the house is almost 200 years old. It has only ever been heated with a wood burning stove, and we wanted to preserve its original heating system. NEW FRIENDS: New Friends is Alexandra Segreti and Kelly Rakowski. Alex and Kelly first connected on the internet with a shared love of textiles and eccentric visuals. They began working on weavings together, apart. Months later they met IRL, shared their work and became New Friends. New Friends live in Brooklyn and Philadelphia.
