United Bamboo x Madewell: Lucky Magazine
Great news guys! That capsule collection United Bamboo designed for Madewell we told you about yesterday just landed in stores and online this morning.
The line is very small—there are only five items—but each one is SO GOOD that a limited selection is actually better. It makes the picking process a little less painful. And, for regular UB customers, there’s no need to narrow things down at all: the price of everything combined actually costs less than many styles from designers Thuy Pham and Miho Aoki’s main label.
Included in the selection is two colorful printed blouses marked at $125 each, a pair of dresses—one $165, the other $178—and a cozy winter coat very similar to the brand’s trademark “fishtail” parka. However, instead of having pricetag upwards of $1,300, this version is wallet friendly $350.

First Look: United Bamboo for Madewell, the Full Collection
So, this is happening: United Bamboo designed a small capsule collection for Madewell and it hits stores tomorrow.
Considering most collaborations are accompanied with a boatload of buzz–some might even call it hysteria in certain cases (ahem, Missoni for Target) – we’re not sure how this truly awesome one wasn’t on our radar before today. But never mind, now we know–thanks to Lucky, who tipped us off. And we can’t wait.
The five-piece collection, priced between $125-$350, includes two blouses, two dresses and a coat–all a perfect mix between Madewell‘s preppy-cool style and United Bamboo‘s quirky, intellectual and arty aesthetic. To wit, one of the blouses’ prints comes from a painting by Parisian artist Pier Fichefeux, which he lent exclusively to the brand. Fancy.
